A Place to Belong

We are fortunate to have a staff of dedicated Christian individuals who believe in the natural order of things in life: God first, family second, and work third.  They are committed to Christ, to His church, and to His people!

The principal function of the staff at FBC Willow Park is to serve God by joining with the church in fulfilling its mission of reaching persons with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to nurture believers in the Word of God, and to extend the Kingdom of God worldwide.  They serve by leading, ministering, and proclaiming.

Minister of Youth:  Jonathan Mansur

Jonathan came to serve FBCWP in July 2007.  He plans on getting married in May or June of 2008.  At that time, Alyson will come join him in serving this church.

 

Jonathan loves his job.  He enjoys spending time with and investing in the lives of Jr. High and High School students.  His heart is to share Christ with them, be an example to them, and challenge them to be like Jesus in all they do.  He sees youth as the future leaders not just of this country, but of our church.  He believes they should be solid in their faith and desires to work with parents and volunteers in the ministry to make this happen.

 

The new name for the youth ministry is “Inside Out.”  Jonathan’s heart and vision that he has brought to our youth is to truly be changed for Christ from the Inside Out.  He desires for the transformation that has happened inside those who believe to be shown in every aspect of our lives.  “… and the cry of my heart is to bring You praise, from the inside out, Lord my soul cries out …”

Minister of Children/SONshine Preschool Director:  Karen Carr

Karen and her husband, Rickey, joined FBCWP in 1993.  Karen joined the FBCWP staff as The SONshine Preschool director in March, 1998 and  Minister to Children in March, 2001.  They have four children, Matthew, Julia, Richard, and Mikayla.

 

Karen feels blessed to serve the Lord in the children’s ministries at FBCWP.  The children’s ministry is designed to minister to families in our community by providing a loving, Christian environment while helping children to develop according to scripture.  Luke 2:52 tells us “and Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.”  In accordance with the scripture, our purpose is to provide an atmosphere where children will grow . . . mentally – with wisdom, physically – with stature, spiritually – in favor of God, and socially & emotionally – in favor with men.  This is accomplished by providing a program of ministry and outreach to the families of the children in this community.  Our mission is to share His love with children and their families.

 

Karen believes that “Children are a gift from God and a special part of His family.”  “I love children and pray that each child in our church develops a thriving relationship with our Lord Jesus.”
