What You Need to Know about Our Children’s Programs at FBCWP

When You Arrive:

Your child’s leader will greet you at the door, gather the items your child will need, and take down important information (e.g. allergies, dietary needs, etc.). Before you go, you will be issued a pager. We will not release your child to anyone who does not have the pager number that matches what we have on file for your child.

What Your Child Will Do:

Our preschoolers enjoy a Bible lesson that is presented at their level of understanding. They also sing and do a craft that is related to the lesson they have just learned. You will have a correlating lesson sheet to take home with you to reinforce their lesson.

When You Leave:

Please present your pager and check to make sure you have all the items you came with.

Text Box: When You Arrive: Children go directly to their Sunday School classrooms. You will be able to greet your child’s teachers at the door and fill out any visitor information there. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to voice them at this time; we want you and your child to be as comfortable as possible. What Your Child Will Do: Your child will enjoy a Bible lesson with his/her peers that may include a snack, craft, music, and/or other fun activity, depending on the lesson for that Sunday. There is also a question/answer time as well as a time for prayer requests and prayer. When Your Child Leaves: We provide a lesson pamphlet for your child to take home. It has follow-up questions in it to help reinforce the lesson he/she has learned. We also provide sheets for your child to work on during church or at home as a form of fun reinforcement of their lesson.

What Your Child Will Do:

We provide our Shine Time preschoolers with a light snack at 11 am (e.g. gold fish, pretzels, graham crackers). Otherwise, their time is spent playing, singing, and reading. Some of our workers also enjoy doing a craft with the children.

**You may feel free to check on your child at any time. We do ask that you try to do so discreetly.

What to Bring (please label all personal items with your child’s name) for Your Preschooler:

2 or more disposable diapers (if your child is not potty-trained)

Baby wipes

A change of clothes

Bottle/drink bottle/snack (if needed)

A security item (e.g. pacifier, small toy, blanket)

Text Box: Our Well-Baby Policy For the health safety of all our children, we ask that you not leave a child in these SONshine ministries who has a fresh cold, recurrent cough, fever, or any other signs of contagious illness. We thank you in advance for helping keep all our preschoolers well.
